  1. Leave that chip alone. It is produced for industial purposes and not for sale in shops.
  2. :) Just send me the stuff. I am German and give you the informations you want. Send to [email protected] HtG
  3. ;DHey freaks, here is something you have been looking for to make your circuit unpredictable. A new gate JUX1-3 has been developed to overcome this problem. It is a perhaps-gate with a variety of functions. The IC is produced in a DIP-14 package and contains four identical gates. Technical details are available at: http://bullshit/co.th Here is the logic symbol and the truth table for one gate. Have fun!
  4. ;D Try everything else but don't try Norton or McAfee. Both of them mingle in your system while you don't expect it and they also decelerate it considerably. Herman the German
  5. ??? The decimal counter CD4017 can be wired not to count all the way up. However counting from zero to six and resetting with the output 7 it starts at one (zero almost omitted). Who knows the trick?
  6. Omit them if you like it hot! Like any oscillation (mechanic or electronic) it produces heat! Of course the poor regulator will some time die because of the tremendous heat inside. You can accelerate this process also omitting a heat sink. Concerning the input voltage for a stable output three Volts is the best figure. Due to the "typically" built-in error two Volts will sometimes work, sometimes won't work. Electronically spoken this device will be a "perhaps-gate" using two Volts above the desired output voltage.
  7. 1 inch equals exactly 24.5mm. Figure the numbers in mm accordingly, lazy guy!
  8. Hello everybody, I am in close contact wiht a Korean producer of UV-LEDs. Since those people know how to produce the LEDs they don't know much about marketing. I sent them already a list of more than 1.000 German electronic suppliers and I am curious to know if there exists something similar to Germany, a CD with all German telephone numbers and the associated addresses. If it exist in England please let me know the name and the distributor of it. The German equivalent is called D-info. Many thanks HtG
  9. Hello everybody, I read an article in Philips application note (AN170, Dec. 1988) about an application to convert voltage to pulse duration - PWM. I tried the circuit with a simulator programme with the only difference using 2N2222 instead of a 2N3642. No matter which input voltage is applied or offset adjustments are done the timer output is constantly high. The simulation programme is very old and maybe some features of the NE555 are not implied. Has somebody made any experience concerning voltage to pulse duration? If Yes please notify me. Thank you Herman the German
  10. Thanks a lot! I'll find a place to buy them.
  11. ??? Nixie tubes were a long time used before LED displays. Who knows a loacation where nixie tubes are still available? Kind regard to all Herman the German
  12. Mils don't help not knowing how many! Setting mils instead of inches just changes the value. I have got that far, 100 mils equal 1inch. Good to know somebody likes my desktop. My wife doesn't!
  13. hybrid is also used to grow animals and plants. If you buy a hybrid chicken this chicken will not be able to produce chicken. If you buy a hybrid tree it will not produce further trees. That means you have to buy over and over for good profit of the breeder. HtG
  14. :-[ I have downloaded a programme calculating for voltage loss in any conductor. It seems helpful using it to design PCBs and the traces. However I do not quite understand which numbers I need to put in fora standard PCB with a copper layer of 35 micrometers. Is there somebody who can put the correct values in the boxes to design PCBs with traces no smaller than required and no bigger than necessary (to have space for signal traces)? To make it more delightful I added an attachment with a beautiful girl (her name is Vida Guerra (top model)) regards Herman the German
  15. :( Checking at semiconductor companies such as Motorola, Texas Instruments, Siemens, SGS-Thomsen (ST) does not show that they are producing laser equipment. Who knows where to get such devices?
  16. Thank you for your help. I checked it and just found a timer. This is not what is on my mind. The timer should have the following properties: Count up and down 999.99 seconds and use optoelectronics to start (car races for instance), switch off the microwave oven after the exact preset time and work as a photimer as well to expose PCBs. I just have difficulties with the pins clock in, clock out, borrow and carry since they are not described thoroughly enough in the data sheet. Regards HtG
  17. To whom it may concern, I have studied this power supply a bit and found some discrepancies. I can not go along saying that an electronlytic of 3300UF is sufficient for an AC-ripple of 0.01%. 0.1% comes closer according to my experience. I also have made some changes, e.g. the driver for the power transistor. Look it up let's discuss. HtG comments.doc.zip
  18. I have downloaded Digital Works lately but I can't get through to download a registered version of the programme. Using the URL I usually get redirected to another and there is nothing to find concerning "Digital Works". Using the email address the email is returned for unknown address. Who knows more about it? And if pleas give me a note. Thanks HtG
  19. :D I'll try a completely new way concerning the power stages. 2N3055 is something I have seen in the museum. Two main changes will apply to a power supply with high perfomance. First the transformer will be a ring type (excuse me, my English is not better but may be understood). You can drive a ring type transformer almost to saturation and it will still work. Secon change: through out the dinosaur transistors and replace with N-channel Power MOSFET with no higher restance than 0.04 Ohms, even having the luxory that each individial transistor has a FLAG output to indicate that it is tired of working and give the whole burden to his brother. Just let me think two or three nights about the theme. I'll come out soon with a good and affordable power supply. Kind regards to all being busy with the problem. HtG
  20. ??? I got an old 3 1/2 inch disk drive and of course I want to use some parts of it. The most interesting part however is the small stepper motor (bipolar). Connecting it to the shaft of another motor will produce voltage output on the two output coils which can be converted to digital and be used for precise rpm measurement (like in a frequency counter) Using DC-motor to drill PCBs (sometimes five in a pack) the rpm drops considerably while the drill works itself through the FR4. My idea is to compensate the drop vai this stepper. The signals of the stepper can be compared with the signal of the selector and then trigger the PWM drive for wider pulses or a higher frequency or both. Any idea to start with? Kind regards HtG
  21. OK. Thank You very much! On the second try I got the whole list. regards HtG
  22. ::)I found a strong DC motor which I want to use to drill PCBs. It has a tacho-generator output which I think can be used to automatically control a preset rpm. On a varying load the motor rpm will decrease or increase. It should also be run on 24V for maxium power to give at least 20.000 rpm. Does anybody have a circuit ready to achieve control? Thank You. HtG
  23. ??? I saw a schematic concerning HV generators. There was an old flyback transformer in the circuit and how to change it. The windings of the primary coil were 22AWG and 18AWG. Germans handle square millimeters and dia millimeter but no AWG at all. How can I convert AWG to metric? Greetings to all solder iron freaks. Herman the German
