  1. yeah... i figured that the chip was fried. I am very new to this stuff so bare with me. i will try your resistor set up and post my results in a day or so. Thank you. and sorry about the JPG quality.
  2. yeah, all the leds are lit. I put in a voltage diver circuit and placed my ref low on 4 volts and ref high on 8 volts and it didn't seem to make a difference.
  3. what i am trying to do is take a steady 12 volt supply and make seven LEDs turn on one at a time and then go out one at a time at 1/2 hz cycle. attached is the schematic that i made. I was unable to find a lm3915 chip to simulate on multisim but i built one for the drawing. Any ideas on how to make this thing work would be greatly appreciated
  4. thanks for all the help so far... i'll see if i can get something going.. if anyone has anymore ideas... i'd love to hear them.... THANK AGAIN.
  5. is there a chip out there to drive 7 -10 leds that will count pulses from a 555 and hold the lights on until the last pulse and restart? working on a project for school and having trouble finding the right chip to make the project do what my instructor is asking for. tried a 3915 with a capacitor to make the same effect but he would like to see if i can find something drive by a 555. PLEASE HELP.
  6. i appreciate the info.. if you don't mind me asking... these are for like a blinker set up on a motorcycle, what would i look for in the specs of the leds? do you know?
  7. Hey everyone... very new to the electronics field. Taking a class in it an need a little help with a project. Trying to sequence two set of five leds. five in one direction(on on switch) five in the other direction(other switch). would like to have led 1 light and stay lit then 2 to light and stay lit and so on until #5 lights and then resets the sequence. what do in need for parts? Can this be done with a 555 and a 4017 cmos chip or do i need to look elsewhere? Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated. Mark
