  1. Thank you VERY much. I look forward to reading up on that this weekend. Getting back into the electronics thing has been a fun ride. I can't believe how much I have forgotten over the years. I have remembered more then I would have guessed tho. Thank you for the help. Sincerely, Kevin in Alaska
  2. Probably pretty odd of a thing to make but... I am in the need to make a small thing that has a row of 10 lights (LEDs etc) and with 2 buttons and a speaker giving a tone when one of the buttons is pushed. Button A would turn on one of those lights. hit the button again and it would add a second light and so on and so on, to a max of 10 lights. They would stack next to each other from left to right (from first light to the tenth light) Button B would simply reverse the and take away the last light given to the order. Maybe a 3rd button that would to just reset the lights (no matter how many lights are up). but not needed at all, just handy I guess. Speaker would just give a beep or buzz or something each time the add a light button is pressed. Here is a link to a diagram I did that kind of explains better what I am trying for. I hope it helps. http://images.elektroda.net/75_1179456614.jpg Well if anyone know if this is a possible thing to make, can you let me know. I can then at least start to research it. heh! It has been years sense college electronics class. I should be able to pull out my book some where in storage. :) I guess I really didn't have much to do this weekend anyhow. :) Well best wishes and thank you everyone for your time. Sincerely, Kevin in Alaska
  3. Lol.. its a small world. Even on the internet. :) I remember you. Read it last night. Great advice too. :) Thank you yet again. :) Cheers Kevin in Alaska
  4. Hello Everyone and thank you for your time in reading this. I have a year of electronics in college but that was more then 18 years ago and I have forgotten probably half of it. So please bare with me. A few years ago I purchased this little Christmas Ornaments that you plug into the little light bulb sockets on the christmas lights on the tree. I really do like them and had the idea of making some for girfts next year. These lights only have a single blue LED in a clear plastic ice cute guy. I was hoping to make something a little more fun with more LED colors that sort of phase into the other colors kind of slowly with an small overlapping in color period. Maybe 3 colors... heck... maybe 4.... lol or just maybe Red and Green colors. I guess I am not too picky. I would guess Christmas lights run on a 110VAC here in the USA. So I am not sure how this could be achieved safely with LEDs and some Diodes and maybe with some capacitors. Maybe I am way of base. Maybe I am needing some kind of chip for this task. what ever I do I would like it to 1) be small to fix correctly if possible. 2) cheep would be second best. 4 kids make the pocket book small with my budget. These are not all required but would be nice. So with this all said, would anyone have any advice on how I could get started trying to figure out this thing. I know if I dont get this going now I will NEVER get them done before next Christmas. Well thank you EVERYONE for your time again. Best Wishes all Kevin in Alaska
