  1. Hi Salahadeen, i have drawn a circuit that might be of help to you, best of luck ! arun
  2. Hello Olalekan, you've asked about "cold Starting", Let me explain: if you are using your PC which is connected to your present UPS and there is a Power Failure, the UPS continues to supply Power to your PC in Split Second changeover. this is called Warm booting. consider a situation when there is a Power Failure and you want to use your PC which was not ON till that moment and you switch on your UPS during Power Failure to Power your PC this is called COLD Start , this can be fatal, if your UPS doesn't Support COLD start feature. during Cold Start, the PC draws Heavy Current
  3. Hi Olalekan, It is difficult to home brew an SMPS Battery charger, unless you are fully experienced with Switching Supplies. you can Purchase a readymade SMPS 12V, Battery charger kit and use it, it is worth the investment, than trafo charger. as suggested by Mvadu you have to use a Cooling Fan, otherwise you can Kiss your UPS goodbye! if your are intending to use this Modified UPs for things other than Computer, like fans, TV etc, there is very chance of Over Loading the UPS. limit your Load to 150 Watts only. Secondly, does your UPS Support COLD Starting, if it does then no problem, but if it doesn't then there is no point in going for this modification. Arun
  4. Hello Frankie, i guess you can try using a 12 Volts DC Soldering Iron tied to the Fuel Line(10 inches) or use a 12 volts DC Diesel heater used in
  5. Hello aniruddha i don't know what you are upto? ::) i defintely have answer for your thrid Question: No, it wouldn't act like a Diode, but you'd hear a bang, then your room will be filled with fine mist when that Polarised electrolytic Cap is put in wrongly(polarity) this is my personal Experience! why do you want to use Costly Caps as diodes when that job has been taken up by cheap diodes nura
  6. Hello Friend :) First of all , your Inkjet/dotmatrix Printer cannot be used to make PCBs, bCoz of the resolution issues.(the characters are formed by minute dots of soluble ink) :( secondly you cannot use the photocopier method if you are using inkjet printout, bcoz the Copier doesnot improve the resolution of the Master copy (inkjet printout) >:( heres the answer, prepare your Artwork in PDF or Word Format and take it to a nearby Laserprinter Shop and get a minimum 600dpi res. print on MATT finish Coated INKJET paper (not the Thick paper, it should be two colored, i.e one side half white and other side bright white). ;) Some laserprinters have PIN Holes problem, which your can overcome if your art work is designed in fine resolution. ::) once you have your Artwork on the paper, you know how to iron it on! 8) bye nura
  7. Hello Audioguru & alun :D Musty Send me a personal Request, for some other Project, which i replied. i did project some 8 Months back, got the the final result by combing some of my earlier projects. 3- 4 schematics were used. ;D i drew the schematic on some piece of paper at work place, i'll have to redraw this schematic in Eagle or Smart Draw. it'll take time. Meanwhile, i can Explain how the whole thing works. here's the BOM (bill of Material): Cd 4017 Cd 4016 Tsop 1736 Relays -5 nos 555 IC BC 547 -5 Nos Bc 558-1 Nos LEds-6 Caps + Resis Etc. working in brief : Tsop !738 detects Modulated IR signal from the Remote and is amplified by BC 558, to Trigger the Pin 2 of 555 Ic, a neat Clock Pulse is Obtained at Pin 3 of 555 IC, which is Applied to clock inputs of decade counter 4017 & Sevent segment Driver 4026. out of Q0- Q9 outputs of 4017, only 6 O/P s are used here. at the time of reset or power on - Q0 is high which drives a RED LED which is used as an "OFF" indicator. on each press of Remote, the Output state of 4017 advances from Q0 -Q5. ons on Sixth key press the counter is reset. Bc 547 trans are wired to the outputs of the counter to drive each relay which tap the Wire wound Fan Regulator Resistor. I chose W/W resistor gives clean Sine wave Output than the dimmers, and no EMI noise . ;D (i have also built another remote regulator using Full-Wave Phase Controller. which doesn't use relays) ;) at any instance only one Relay is Energized and all other are OFF. the Same way Display Driver advances from 0 to 5 and resets on sixth key press. here are few pics, i wanted to post Mpeg file but thats 5 MB file ??? hope this gives a clear picture, Musty! nura ;)
  8. Hello Musty! ;) Check your Yahoo mail box, i have replied to your Mail. :D i have already built the project you are talking about. i built this one ,bcoz iam lazy to get up and adjust Fan speed when watching TV, on computer etc. ;D i just point the TV Remote to the Sensor and Switch the Speeds. Here's My Project Pics. I have used 7 Segment LED Display to Indicate Fan Speed. It goes from 0 to 5. Nura
  9. Hello Sasi :D the big Diodes, capcitors, 220 Ohms -high wattage Resistor, all these components are used for Protecting the Mosfets from High Voltage Stress & Spikes from the Trafo. if u are not using them correctly, the Mosfets are at risk. since you have Vol- 19 of EFY Projects, there is a PWM Inverter Construction project by Mr. Bashin, using SG 3525, the author has used simple Setup to Drive Mosfets without using BC 557s & BC 547s. the Spike protection for mosfets looks good. :D Did you try that circuit ? ??? here's the Circuit ;D arun
  10. Hello Sasi, there is an error in your Controller board Silkscreen the 6 amp diodes(diode pairs) are reversely connected, they should be connected the other way round. i've circled them in the Pic. :D have you checked this ;) arun
  11. Sasi, I also have noticed on your Mosfet Board you have used MOVs which are not present in the Output schematic ??? were these later added ? arun :)
  12. Hello Sasi ! Today, i was just going thru your Pcbs & Schematics in this thread, i felt there were inconsist with each other. ( hold a second, Don't get angry!) what i mean is - the output mosfet section schematic shows only 33 Ohms gate resistors , but your Board shows Gate resistors + Diodes+ diode or resistors. and also in the Oscillator section, in the schematic you have shown one diode, but on the board there are a Pair of diodes. a final request, your PCBs are helpful to any member who wud like to build an inverter, so can you post the Silk screen with the Component Values instead of just Component outlines. arun
