flippityflop
are these NPN BJTs:http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/17918/PHILIPS/MMBT2222A.htmlthe same as those 2N2222 that has been around for since forever? can i trust that the reverse active and avalanche breakdown profiles are the same?? audioguru
A transistor is slowly damaged when operating with avalanche breakdown of a reverse-biased emitter-base junction. The 2N2222 and BT2222 are guaranteed to withstand a reverse emitter-base voltage of 6V or less. Both transistors probably have the same chip but since the BT2222 is in a tiny case then it will overheat even with a very low power dissipation.
