repairman2be 5 Report post Posted February 26, 2017 Hi All, Does anyone have schematic, PCB layout of a modern day Power Supply? Regards, William
HarryA 4 Report post Posted February 27, 2017 If you look at [Projects] at the top of the page you may find something helpful: Projects->Power. (Odd there is no link back to the forum page from those pages?)
repairman2be 5 Report post Posted February 28, 2017 Thanks HarryA, I did look around the forum already. I did actually build one member liquibyte did as he provided gerber files. So I had PCB's made. It is working, was just wondering if there might be anything better out there.
HarryA 4 Report post Posted February 28, 2017 I understand. My electronic books are old enough to vote. Also I find it cost so much for the components that it is far cheaper to buy than build. For example see: http://www.ebay.com/itm/30V-5A-DC-Power-Supply-Adjustable-Dual-Digital-Variable-Precision-Lab-Grade-110V-/391378270581?hash=item5b1ff67975:g:zwcAAOSwUKxYiV76
admin 6 Report post Posted February 28, 2017 You may check this blog for a revised version of the popular 0-30V PSU: http://www.paulvdiyblogs.net/2015/05/tuning-030v-dc-with-03a-psu-diy-kit.html 1 navidmomeni reacted to this
HarryA 4 Report post Posted February 28, 2017 I tried to buy "30v 10A 110V precision variable dc power supply ..." for 6.97$ and free shipping but it would not let me "buy it now". To good to be true? Worth that as a coffee warmer! http://www.ebay.com/itm/30V-10A-110V-Precision-Variable-DC-Power-Supply-Clip-Cable-Digital-Adjustable-S/222418872649?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D41394%26meid%3D98314beb8bcf41c2956f228cf09493ad%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D391694935441
audioguru 21 Report post Posted March 1, 2017 The ebay kit that is a copy of the original faulty Greek power supply on this site is also sold by Banggood and Amazon. Banggood is selling it at a clearance price since they probably had many complaints. They have modified it a little and are selling it again as a kit with a 28V/2A rating and an LCD meter for it. The very nice looking 30V/10A power supply is extremely cheap. Its ad has no detailed spec's. It does not even say if the voltage and current are regulated. If something looks to be too good then it probably is not true. 1 electron234 reacted to this
repairman2be 5 Report post Posted March 2, 2017 Hello fellows, Thanks for for your input in that matter. @HarryA - I have to agree, they are very cheap these days. I did buy a Gophert CPS-3205 last year. @Admin - Thanks for the link. I came across this one also as I happen to have 2 of those DIY Banggood boards. When I started off with Electronics again after some 40 years I felt a bit overwhelmed by Paul's mods. So, after having built one myself just recently, see in Projects Q/A - 0-30V 0-3A Latest Data, I feel more confident. Maybe I give it a go. @HarryA - That 30V 10A offer is a bit miss leading. There are three options to choose. There is a selectable field called Current. If you select that 30V 10A version you will find that is cost US$53.48. Still cheap, but does not ship to Australia. @audioguru - Thanks for you input also. For me it is more about building it than buy if possible. Cheers from Australia
