Hello,

I am currently developing an audio system and need guidance on finding or designing a solution for the following requirements:

  1. Input:

    • 5.1-channel optical (SPDIF) input, capable of decoding compressed audio formats such as Dolby Digital or DTS.
  2. Output:

    • Conversion of the decoded audio data into an I²C interface for integration with the rest of the system.
  3. Additional Features:

    • High-quality, delay-free audio processing.
    • Full compatibility with I²C communication protocols for control and data exchange.

I’ve explored various audio decoder boards and evaluation kits but haven’t found a product that directly provides I²C output from a 5.1 optical input.

Could anyone recommend:

  • Specific hardware or ICs that meet these requirements?
  • Any manufacturers or suppliers who might offer custom solutions?
  • Any example projects, schematics, or resources to help implement this?

Your insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your time and expertise.
