As industries require real-time data and communications, there is a huge demand for hardware capable of efficient, flexible, and faster data transmission. Keeping today’s needs in mind, DeepSea developments have introduced  DeepRad, a software-defined radio with enhanced features suitable for today’s use. DeepRad has a modular design, making it easy to integrate into custom projects also being an SDR, it allows flexible configurations through software, offering developers the ability to customize the behavior of the module according to their needs.

SDR receivers are powerful tools with a wide range of applications that cater to various interests and needs they also use  LORA signals and monitor the latest communications. This allows users to easily tune into a wide range of frequencies and signals, making SDRs ideal for applications like amateur radio, satellite communication, and remote sensing. Also for weather enthusiasts SDR technology enables you to capture remarkable images from the International Space Station and obtain critical weather data from NOAA satellites.

The new DeepRad module is customizable as per customer needs.

DeepRad Quad Specifications

Any type of antenna connected improves communication, but also the signal quality improves we integrate filters between the RF pin and the antenna. It has both external and internal oscillators chosen as per need for more precise timing and synchronization. It has a vast frequency range of 24 MHz – 1.7 GHz, with a bandwidth of 2.4MHz per channel and a sensitivity of -135 dBm making it useful in various applications.

Talking about the DeepRad Module has a Shielded Primary Inductor and RF Tuner which is crucial for filtering and energy storage within the module. The shielded design also minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMI) from external sources ensuring the inductor maintains high performance and signal integrity. Moreover, the custom heatsink efficiently dissipates heat from critical components, such as the RF tuner and power supplies. It has Castellated Mounting Holes (USB, TCXO, ANT)  ensuring a secure and reliable connection for data transfer and power supply. Even with such vast features on the module, this module is compact.

DeepRad Quad for Large-Scale Applications

DeepSea Developers introduced DeepRad Quad useful in large-scale applications. DeepRad Quad is a connection of 4 DeepRad single modules all connected to a USB hub. The DeepRad Quad module can monitor 4 different signals at the same time, and also reduce signal distortion when the TCXO is synchronized.

The DeepRad Quad features the advanced R860T tuner, renowned for its wide frequency range and enhanced sensitivity, allowing it to detect weaker signals effectively. Its compact, integrated circuit design simplifies system integration while minimizing footprint. Additionally, the TCXO 0.5 ppm ensures stable signal performance across temperature variations and significantly reduces phase noise, further enhancing signal clarity and quality. DeepRad SDR can be integrated with other microprocessors like Raspberry Pi by embedding the system directly into the motherboard which gives the user a versatile choice for projects.

Also, you can use a USB connector to integrate it into a USB hub. DeepRad single has a USB Type-C connector that allows it to connect directly to a tablet or phone so users can start using the wide variety of apps available. The module gets support from very common software such as SDR#, GQRX, GNU Radio, and SDR++ making it more user-friendly.

Finally talking about the pricing, DeepRAD can be bought at $340 at Crowd Supply’s store. For more information about the module please visit the product page.
