LILYGO T-Watch S3 Plus ESP32-based smartwatch upgrades with GPS and 940mAh battery

LILYGO has recently introduced an upgraded version of their T-Watch S3 ESP32-based smartwatch, the T-Watch S3 Plus. This new smartwatch not only features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE but also has a MIA-M10Q GPS module for added functionality. While maintaining the open-source flexibility of its predecessor (T-Watch S3), this new model adds a larger 940mAh lithium polymer battery for extended operation and refined hardware features.

Built around an ESP32-S3 wireless MCU, the T-Watch S3 Plus smartwatch integrates a 1.54-inch 16-bit full-color TFT LCD display (ST7789V) with capacitive touch including wide angle features. The smartwatch also incorporates an infrared (IR) sensor (IO02), which could be used for remote control or proximity detection.

LILYGO lists Arduino IDE, ESP-IDF, VS Code, and MicroPython support. However, the company has only provided the T-Watch S3 GitHub repository (TTGO T-Watch Library) with firmware updates and LoRa module support for Arduino.
