Luckfox Lyra Ultra and Lyra Ultra W: Rockchip RK3506B Linux embedded system with 8GB eMMC Storage and Linux Compatibility

The Luckfox Lyra Ultra is a Linux-based micro development board powered by the Rockchip RK3506B processor, designed for efficient embedded system development. It supports DDR2, DDR3, and DDR3L memory interfaces, allowing flexible memory expansion.

The board is well-suited for multimedia processing and network communication. It is equipped with multiple high-speed interfaces, including MIPI DSI, RMII, DDR, and USB. It also incorporates Rockchip’s Matrix IO design, enabling the multiplexing of 98 function signals across GPIO pins. This enhances flexibility in configuring low-speed interfaces such as PWM, UART, I2C, SPI, and I2S, optimizing the use of limited chip pins for seamless peripheral integration.

Additionally, the board includes a built-in audio and video codec, supporting multiple audio inputs and outputs for high-quality playback and recording. Its versatility simplifies debugging and accelerates development, making it an excellent choice for rapid prototyping in embedded system projects.

Luckfox Lyra Ultra specifications

The Luckfox Lyra boards support the Buildroot build system and Ubuntu 22.04, with tailored images available for both the Luckfox Lyra Ultra and Luckfox Lyra Ultra W. Buildroot images can boot directly from eMMC storage, and all image files are available for download on the Luckfox wiki page.

Additionally, the Luckfox-Lyra-SDK includes Buildroot, Yocto, application code, kernel, and U-Boot, providing developers with a complete software package. The SDK has been tested on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS host machines, ensuring compatibility and ease of development.

A few months ago, Luckfox released the Lyra and Lyra Plus, both Linux-based micro development boards powered by the Rockchip RK3506G2 SoC. The Luckfox Lyra comes in three versions to meet different needs: the base model with core features, the Lyra B with 256MB of onboard flash, and the Lyra Plus, which adds 256MB of SPI NAND flash and a 10/100Mbps Ethernet RJ45 connector.

The Luckfox Lyra Ultra and Luckfox Lyra Ultra W Rockchip RK3506B embedded systems are available on AliExpress for $19.94 and $23.25, respectively, with free shipping in the USA. While the boards are not currently listed on Amazon, they will soon be available through the Waveshare store on Amazon.
