Friendly Elec has recently launched the NanoPi R3S Rockchip RK3566 SBC, a compact, powerful single-board computer (SBC), at a very low price. It has a Rockchip RK3566 processor with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A55, running up to 1.8GHz, and 2GB of LPDDR4X RAM. For storage, it includes a microSD slot and an optional 32GB eMMC module. Connectivity options are robust, including native Gigabit Ethernet, a PCIe Gigabit Ethernet, and a USB 3.0 port. It has a USB-C port to plug in power and connect to other things. It also has lots of lights and buttons to do different stuff. The board supports multiple operating systems like FriendlyWrt, Debian Bookworm Core, OpenMediaVault, and Ubuntu Noble Core and operates on a Linux 6.1-LTS kernel.

It’s made for things that need to connect to the internet, small computers, and building new stuff. It needs to be fast, work well with other stuff, and be small. You can get it in different configurations, including options for additional memory and a metal case.

Previously, we have written about some more interesting SBCs like the QBIP-N97A 3.5″ SBC, the IBASE IB961 3.5″ SBC, Radxa’s Rock 2A, and much more. Feel free to check those out if you are interested in the topic.
