LED driver simplifies dimming control

Operating over an input voltage range of 4 V to 36 V, the driver integrates two independently controlled LED drivers that switch at up to 2 MHz. Synchronous operation results in efficiencies above 94% with both channels at full current load.

The Factors That Determine PCB Assembly Pricing

Bittele Electronics has developed its pricing schedule based on various factors that determine PCB assembly costs. Some of our customers call us to better understand the factors involved assembly pricing. In general, the factors that cause pricing differences include PCB dimensions, part types and quantities, soldering methodology, type of inspections, etc.

Pricing changes often depend upon the quantity of parts to be assembled on a PCB as well as the type of parts. Component types and the technology selected by the customer also determine our final pricing. Other things that impact pricing include, through-hole components, SMDs, and fine pitch, leadless or BGA devices.

There are substantial price increases if you specify double-sided assembly. This is because the assembly process will need to be repeated to place parts on both sides of the board. The double-sided assembly process also includes extra solder stencil production, SMT equipment programming, etc., which can add costs to the average assembly charge. Nonetheless, Bittele attempts to charge reasonable prices along with lead-free assembly by considering all these factors in our prices.

Bittele offers lead-free assembly based upon the customer’s specifications. We possess two additional production lines dedicated to lead-free assembly. We employ RoHS-compliant, state-of-the-art soldering methods. Lead-free assembly may result in prices changes, however. You can obtain the actual costs by contacting one of our sales representatives.

The type and size of parts that you select will also determine the final PCB assembly cost. Charges may also change if you specify lead-less parts, such as BGA, QFN, etc. In addition, costs may vary with package sizes (e.g., 0201, 1206, etc.) as well as the inspection methods you specify.

Bittele has a variety of inspection methods, including in-circuit and functional tests, available to ensure high quality PCBs. We are capable of the following tests: visual inspection for basic quality verifications, x-ray testing for lead-less devices and blank PCBs, AOI inspections to test solder paste applications, missing components, and polarity. Our inspections are completed without additional charges.

A Nordic-based BLE module has been released by Murata. The latest MBN52832 device consists of Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF52832 IC, a 32MHz crystal for timing, and an on-board antenna. Additionally, it contains pins for an off-board omni-directional antenna and a NFC antenna. The module provides a Serial Port Interface (SPI) and UART interface to Nordic’s nRF52832 ARM Cortex M4 processor.

Photoelectric Defuse Sensor using S8119

This is an industrial grade defuse photoelectric sensor module which is based on Optical IC S8119 from HAMAMATSU. A diffuse reflection sensor is used for the direct detection of an object. The defuse reflective sensor project consists of an Infra-RED LED and receiver. The IC also provides output pulses to the IR LED which emits IR- light which is reflected by the object to be detected and seen by the S8119 IC. Both the emitter LED and receiver sensor are placed on same PCB and are configured for light to be reflected back to the sensor.

Photoelectric Diffuse Sensor using S8119

This is an industrial grade diffuse photoelectric sensor module which is based on Optical IC S8119 from HAMAMATSU. A diffuse reflection sensor is used for the direct detection of an object. The diffuse reflective sensor project consists of an Infra-RED LED and receiver. The IC also provides output pulses to the IR LED which emits IR- light which is reflected by the object to be detected and seen by the S8119 IC. Both the emitter LED and receiver sensor are placed on same PCB and are configured for light to be reflected back to the sensor. The diffuse reflective type senses an object when the light beam is reflected back to the sensor. The circuit provides sensing range up to 50MM however range can be increased by placing the sensor in metal housing shield, proper optics and IR filter. Circuit work with 5V DC., Trimmer potentiometer PR1  provided to set the sensitivity, Normally sensor output is High , its goes low once its detect an object, also D2 LED indicates the object. This board can be used as standalone sensor or as Arduino Nano shield, output of the sensor is connected to the Digital pin D4 of the Arduino Nano, with help of this shield many Reflective sensor based projects are possible. PCB Jumper J1, J2 can be left open/untouched for normal operations, refer data sheet of the IC for J1 and J2.

Note : Sensitivity of the IC is the reciprocal of background light level, which is constantly detected as signal by IC, If the background disturbance light strikes a part on the package of IC, this may lower the allowable background light level. Use light-impervious tape or metal shielding over the shaded area of the IC.
