S-19720 Series Automotive Voltage Tracker

ABLIC’s automotive voltage tracker contributes to high-accuracy sensing

ABLIC’s S-19720 is a voltage tracker with a low offset voltage of ±5 mV. This helps keep the power supply voltage of the off-board ratiometric sensor equal to the reference voltage (VREF) of the analog-to-digital converter (ADC) handling ECU measurements, raising sensor reading accuracy.

The S-19720 also integrates an overcurrent protection circuit, a thermal shutdown circuit, and a reverse current protection function. As a result, it will protect an ECU even in the event of a short to power/short to ground in a wire harness. The S-19720 achieves low current consumption during power-off of 4 µA (typical) when this function operates.

Features

  • Input voltage: 4.0 V to 36.0 V
  • Offset voltage: ±5 mV (0.1 mA ≤ IOUT ≤ 50 mA)
  • Dropout voltage: 160 mV typ. (VADJ/EN = 4.0 V, IOUT = 10 mA)
  • Current consumption:
    • During operation: 30 μA typ.
    • During power-off: 4.0 μA typ.
  • Output current: Possible to output 50 mA (VIN = VADJ/EN + 2.0 V)*1
  • Input capacitor: A ceramic capacitor can be used (1.0 μF or more)
  • Output capacitor: A ceramic capacitor can be used (1.0 μF to 1,000 μF)
  • Built-in overcurrent protection circuit limits overcurrent of output transistor
  • Built-in thermal shutdown circuit with detection temperature of +175°C typ.
  • Reverse current protection function: IREV = -5 μA min. (VIN = 0 V, VADJ/EN = 5.0 V, VOUT = 16.0 V)
  • Operation temperature range: TA = -40°C to +125°C

PAN1770 – Bluetooth 5.1 Low Energy (LE) module

The PAN1770 is a Bluetooth 5.1 Low Energy (LE) module based on the Nordic nRF52840 single-chip controller that allows you to attach an external antenna via uFL. The Bluetooth 5.1 features additionally a higher symbol rate of 2 Mbps using the high-speed LE 2M PHY or a significantly longer range using the LE coded PHY at 500 kb/s or 125 kb/s. The new channel selection algorithm (CSA#2) improves the performance in high interference environments. Furthermore, the new LE advertising extensions allow for much larger amounts of data to be broadcasted in connectionless scenarios.
An output power of up to 8 dBm and the high sensitivity of the nRF52840 in combination with the LE-coded PHY make the module very attractive in applications, where a long range is required. In addition, the ultra-low current consumption of the PAN1770 makes the module an ideal choice for battery-powered devices. With the Cortex ® M4F processor, 256 kB RAM and the build-in 1 MB flash memory the PAN1770 can easily be used in standalone mode, thereby eliminating the need for an external processor, saving complexity, space, and cost. Adafruit’s Bluefruit EZ-Link Launches Back to the Market in a New Form

Original Bluefruit EZ-Link Module

After discontinuing the production of the Bluefruit EZ-Link many years ago, Adafruit is trying to bring back the Bluefruit EZ-Link with some exciting modifications to the board, giving it a new form.

The EZ-Link was the most advanced product added to the Adafruit Bluefruit line of products a few years back. The Bluefruit EZ-Link was a regular SPP serial link client device that could pair with any Bluetooth-enabled device (Except iOS). The feature that made it outstand other Bluetooth modules was its ability to dynamically detect and change the serial baud rate automatically. Moreover, the DTR/RTS/DSR flow control pins could automatically sync to the computer serial port.

This ability of the Bluefruit EZ- Link to toggle the DTR pins as desired enabled it to wirelessly program simple microcontrollers (like Arduino) remotely (within the transmission range of Bluetooth protocols). Adafruit claimed it to be a “Wireless FTDI-like cable”.

Bringing back the Bluefruit EZ-Link from dead with enhanced features

Unfortunately, due to some technical and unspoken issues, Adafruit discontinued the production of the Bluefruit line of series. However, recently Adafruit stated about “Bringing it back from the dead” with an Espressif ESP32 pico module. Adafruit claims the new version would have a much smaller form factor than the original one while maintaining the same configuration of pinouts. The board will provide classic Bluetooth support with an improved SDK version. Moreover, the new form of EZ-Link would have an external antenna, further enhancing the range of communication.

Layout of the new Adafruit's Bluefruit EZ-Link

The new EZ-Link will use the hardware UART on the ESP32 for Rx and Tx. The onboard LED is an RGB NeoPixel for displaying the connection status. Further, the pair-button uses the GPIO-0, allowing it to enter the programming mode.

With the plan to restart the production of the Bluefruit EZ-Link with new features, Adafruit has just stated about some of the new features in a recent blog. However, no information has been provided yet regarding the Launch date and pricing. Adafruit has quoted “We’ll see if this works!” at the end of the blog.

DOOGEE V30 Series Positioned To Lead the High-end Rugged Smartphone Market with Dimensity 900 Chipset

DOOGEE V series rugged phones are flagship models that carry the most recent technologies of the time. The DOOGEE takes a lot of pride in its V series and designs them to stand out. For example, earlier this year, the DOOGEE V20 5G with an innovative rear display was released to much acclaim and quickly became the most loved and sold the rugged phone.

DOOGEE is preparing the next device in the V series line-up dubbed DOOGEE V30 series. This series includes the V30, V30 Pro, V Max, and V Max Pro models with different price points and slightly different features.

All the models in this series will adopt MediaTek 6nm chipsets with the higher-end V30 Pro and V Max Pro going with Dimensity 900 chipset. V30 series smartphones will be the first and the only rugged phone to sport these processors when they hit the market.

The new MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset brings extra advantages including Bluetooth 5.2, 4k video recording, encoding capabilities at 30fps, better LPDDR5 RAM, faster UFS 3.1 storage, 120Hz refresh rate, and Wi-Fi 6.

The V30 series also stand out design-wise. The back is covered by a deerskin and a ceramic strip lines the edges. These aren’t typical materials you would expect from phones designed to withstand drops, dunks in water, and withstand extreme weather. But they do add a certain aesthetic value and feel great in the palm. The materials are also lighter, more durable, and improve signal transmission.

This is exclusive, and we are hoping you will be interested in publishing the story first. Attached are some rendered pictures of the V30 series. There is also a screenshot of the side-by-side comparison of the MediaTek Dimensity 900 and Dimensity 700 to see the improvements the V30 series come with.
