SOMDEVICES has introduced the µSMARC RZ/V2N, a compact System-on-Module (SoM) based on the Renesas RZ/V2N processor. It follows the micro SMARC (µSMARC) form factor, measuring 82x30mm—significantly smaller than the standard 82x50mm SMARC modules.

The µSMARC RZ/V2N integrates a quad-core ARM Cortex-A55 CPU, an ARM Cortex-M33 microcontroller, and an NPU delivering up to 15 TOPS. It supports up to 8GB LPDDR4 RAM and up to 128GB eMMC flash storage and includes two Gigabit Ethernet PHYs. Additionally, an optional Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 wireless module is available.

SOMDEVICES µSMARC RZ/V2N SoM based on Renesas RZ/V2N processor

Despite its compact design, the µSMARC RZ/V2N remains fully compatible with the SMARC 2.1 standard and supports Linux BSPs, including Yocto, Ubuntu, and Debian, offering flexibility for development.

Two standard configurations are available:

  • C0P5-V10 – 2GB LPDDR4, 16GB eMMC flash, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module, and two Ethernet PHYs.
  • C0P5-V11 – Same as the C0P5-V10 but without the wireless module.

SOMDEVICES has not publicly disclosed pricing details. More information can be found on the product page.
